Slightly Confused

I look at the people who are admired for their style and clothes at my school and I noticed that all of them have such a distinct style. Some of them fit the normal stereotypes and others just seem to have such a cohesive wardrobe that really suits their personality. And then I look at my wardrobe... I'm all over the place. One day I'd want to wear a mod dress and the next I'd be in the mood for converses, skinny jeans, a studded belt and leather jacket. I always tell myself "This school year I'll have a theme to my wardrobe" or "I'll have a mixed wardrobe but it will all fit in with my own style" and it never seems to happen. I either get to tired to put a lot of effort into my outfits or can't figure out what I want to look like.
Suggestions?
How did you find your own style?

Also, I've had a dress obsession lately. here are my three favorites

I have exactly the same problem as yours! I always think "OK, it's really time to buckle down and Pick A Personal Style"...but then I can't bear to give up either my vintage dresses or my spiky boots! Maybe we should be a little kinder to ourselves and recognize that for us, part of our style is mixing moods. One of my colleagues said the other day, "Oh, you definitely have a style - you always have something classic with something unusual." I had no idea :)
Also, your forever21 dress = super cute.

you have such awesome dresses.
if I have personal style (not really sure) then it is basically just me going with my mood and the weather.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I just shop and buy things that I love and fit me well and make me feel beautiful and special. That sounds super corny, but feeling great in your clothes is what really matters.
Maybe instead of going from mod to punk you could mix the two? Wear a mod dress with a studded belt or converse or something. Wear a mod top with skinny jeans. Just mixing and matching these different genres I think you'll be able to find an amazing personal style :)

Also - would you be interested in swapping links? Let me know!

I haven't exactly found my style, but I know what I like and what looks good on me, so that's a start!

Lovely prints! My style floats between sort of dark and then preppy and then just random. So I guess I have a problem with chossing a personal style too. haha

Everybody goes through this. I think you can have six different styles in a week, and THAT can be your style.

If you really want to distill it down, look at your closet for themes. Are you into a certain shape? Color? theme?

Dress exactly how you want to each day for a month and photograph yourself each day. Then look at all the photos and see if there's an underlying theme. I bet there will be. And that underlying theme could be a clue to your style.

(p.s.: I see a "style" in this post: body-conscious, graphic print dresses.)

When you're young you can wear ANYthing, so there's no one style that sticks . . . I didn't rerally find my groove until my late 20s - now I know what looks great and what doesn't work, and I gravitate toward certain designers . . .
Give it time, and have fun experimenting while you can!!

Your dresses are awesome,
my style came about as I grew more confident in myself as a person. I started buying things that maybe not many other people would. Picking things for shape and material rather than for trend.

The dress you commented from is from a UK store called New Look. It's one of my summer day favourites.

Love your blog. Expect me back here more.

It looks like your style is classy, with a little bit of an edge? I have the same problem, but this year I'm definitely gonna try harder!

My wardrobe is all over the place as well, but I am sooo much happier wearing whatever I feel like chucking on than being pigeon holed into a particular style. That second dress is amazing!

Oh an absolutely adore your profile picture! Your style is very unique. And your dresses are so cool!

I think my personal style changes as I grow up more... hm.. I think. Although by now I definitely know what I like and don't like but sometimes I find myself liking the most randomest clothing pieces every.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! I see you have me blogrolled; I'm linking back to you. :)

As for personal style, I don't think I hit my stride until after high school. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on clothes, accessories, and makeup when I was in high school, and that's given me a frugal streak. I try not to buy supertrendy things I feel lukewarm about and know I'll get rid of a year later. Instead, I ask myself if I really like what I buy, if it looks good on me, and if I'd still want to wear it next year even if everyone else says it's not in style. If the answer to all three is "yes," that's when I whip out the credit card.

You don't have to have only one look...My style reflects my personality(subtle and not too flashy)... I chose to dress on a more classy and simple side, because that's what feels most comfortable to me... wear what feels right to you at the moment. P.S. you look wonderful in all of your outfits :)

Variety is the spice of life! Much of my wardrobe is a 50s silhouette which suits me, but then I will surprise friends in an AA pencil skirt and off the shoulder top! I think the only thing that needs to connect items in your wardrobe is your love of them! Purge your closet of things you only half-like and keep everything you feel passionately about.

i am going through a strong dress obbsesion too!

I agree, my style is all over the place. But I think that is good! It shows your personality in another way. And if I may suggest, you seem to be into mod dressing the most. If you really want to stick to a style, that one seems like the right one for you.

Hmm I'm not sure how to get a personal style, I gues mine is also realy mixed. I would buy some classy key pieces that you can combine with everything and then i would let myslef inspire by some pictures (ads, celebrities, Runway...) I don't know you just have to wear what you like and in what is comfy for you :) Haha I hope that helped a bit :)If you need some inspiration I could send you some links with great pictures :)

I had the same problem; actually I still HAVE the same problem...sometimes I want to go all classic by wearing cream-colored sweater dresses, hose, and boots, and then the next day I want to wear something more mod/edgy (like, say, a vest, purple tights, shorts and boots. I've never actually worn that before, just an example).

I don't think that you need to stick to one theme for personal style. It's just wearing whatever makes you feel good about yourself.
Although, I wouldnt go as drastic as wearing punk/skater clothes and then wearing girly clothes (like a ruffly blouse and a high-waisted skirt) the next day.

I think it would be cool to mix styles a little bit, like Alison said. You could mix a mod dress with skinny jeans and Convere, or wear a studded belt with a dress. It might work, it might not, but I guess you just have to try it out! After all, style is all about putting things together.

Cute dresses, by the way! I love the H&M one. Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog as well.

I think personal style is somewhat of an evolution of yourself and where you are at that certain point in your life. Rock out the crazy digs while you're young and can pull it off! All in all, put on what makes you feel like wonder woman, put your chin up and enjoy!!!

Thank you for checking out my blog! I apprecate the comments!! And best of luck finding your personal style!

It makes little difference what year a designer watches was manufactured or what the current fashion style is. A luxury watch from Bell & Ross watches becomes a continuous symbol that leaves a memorable impression. Breitling watches are considered to be among the best in fashion because they cater to number of different tastes.
