Eco- Fashion

So, my news of the day - I've decided to try out veganism. I've been a vegetarian for a little over 5 years now and just decided to take it to the next level. I really didn't have specific reasons for becoming first a vegetarian and now a vegan but it's worked out for me so far.

Here are a couple of my favorite animal friendly fashion finds!

Vegan Queen, featured in Vogue

Urban Renewal

^This is a recycled line sold at urbanoutfitters.com

shopbop.com

papertopearls.org

^These are made from recycled paper from ladies in refugee camps in Northern Uganda

Prairie Underground, sold at tobi.com

Linda Loudermilk, sold at beklina.com

And don't forget Suede's dress from the eco friendly project runway episode will be sold at bluefly.com sometime in the future.

Wow, I applaud your decision. Vegetarianism and veganism are a lot more sustainable than eating meat because fruits and veggies are less resource-intensive to produce. I'm an omnivore but on occasion I will have a vegetarian meal just because I want to.

If you're thinking of going vegan and looking at stylish handbags, check out the Montreal-based Matt and Nat line. Their bags are really popular in Vancouver and they're a vegan company.

that bag is excellent! and good luck with your vegan-ism!

Wow, I couldn't imagine being vegan, it would be so difficult for me, but that's a great decision. I've been eating pescetarian for almost 3 months. There's a website that is very similar to the one you listed that makes paper necklaces, also made by women in Uganda. It's beadforlife.org.

Applying veganism to fashion is a great idea and certainly a trend that’s catching on quickly. To find the best deals on eco-fashions, you should visit iStorez (in beta now and will launch this Fall), an online shopping destination like no other - completely focused on deals and specials from the leading stores and brands. They’ve created a page with all the trendiest eco-fashion at http://www.istorez.com/m/shop/eco-fashions. So instead of spending time searching comparison shopping sites, sifting through email newsletters and newspaper inserts or reading every tag in a store, you can use iStorez as your one-stop shop for the best deals on environmentally-friendly fashion.

Great pics. And good luck on the whole vegan thing. It's an admirable decision, but definitely makes dining with friends a problem. Best wishes!

I've been vegetarian since I was 9 (elementary school whim) & was a failed vegan my freshman year in college but applying it to clothes & shoes seems so difficult--especially since the "eco" lines are generally so expensive.

I try to keep myself from guilty by the "anything secondhand is ok" rule, which is so much easier.

Oh my goodness! Those are all beautiful pieces. Thanks so much for pointing out some animal-friendly apparel.

Being a vegetarian is easy, but veganism just sounds difficult. I wish you the best of luck, since I always wish I too could swear off all animal byproducts. But I just love ice cream so much... :(

I actually don't really like this season of PR cause I feel most of them are not as talented & the first challenge was so dissapointing! But the dress is beautiful

I love the loudermilk dress and Suede's dress has been my favorite this season....perfect choices. I just started my life as a vegetarian, but have not made the leap to vegan.

Lovely finds. The bag and necklace are quite awesome; and the last dress is pretty cute! (I just can't imagine wearing it!)

Oh, would you like to trade links!

i'm very impressed. i've tried to be a vegetarian before since i love animals so much and it lasted about 3 days. also, way to go on finding super cute fashion finds!

um.
don't mean to bring you down.
but veganism might cut out pizza and cake.

but that is probably a super healthy life choice so I'm glad you have the willpower that, sadly, I am lacking.

love the paper necklace! they have similar ones at Serendipity in Exeter if you're interested

Good job on veganism. It seems really hard. Those are all great picks

I'm a huge fan of Linda Loudermilk. Very nice selection. What made you decide to go vegan? I've been tabbling as a vegeterian myself, no particular reason really.

i've been a vegetarian for 16 years.. since i was a kid, really! i was vegan for 2 years and despite supplements and terrific eating habits, I started to get anemic and generally ill. It never happens to some people, but I have a tendency toward anemia anyway.just make sure you gets loads of protein and iron! i also want to tell you I have an eco-fashion giveaway going on at Now Entering Momville. Come on by!

With advancement in the craftsmanship of replica watches, it is becoming progressively more difficult to tell the difference between an authentic Gucci watch and a fake Gucci Watches . Why pay thousands of dollars for something that you can get for a few hundred dollars that is short a few unnecessary qualities? The desire for Replica Gucci seems to surpass all economic levels. We all try to let the world see our best side, and that can sometimes encompass spending a great deal of money. Whether we hope to inspire our friends, family members, or significant other, we generally try to do it with a grand, brand name. The Replica Gucci Watches name has been around for over a hundred years and has brought classiness to a multitude of individuals.
