Daddy's Little Girl

I've turned out to be Daddy's little girl at heart My dad has always been my biggest supporter. He pushes me to be "A Cut Above" as we call it and I love that. It taught me the value of hard work at a young age. My dad has earned my respect and trust and I hope I have earned his in return.

In honor of my dad here are some of my favorite trends from the 1950s (his birth decade)

When I think of 1950s the first thing I see is Grease. However, poodle skirts really aren't my thing so I'm going to stick to the dress trends of the 1950s (full skirts, sheath and sack dresses)

i la la love those dresses - gosh, the second one, the ivory & gold and seafoam with polkadots are to die for! im in love haha,

q. im closer with my dad too. we get along better & its more fun to chat with him about anything. i think mom's are generally closer with their boys and dad's with their daughters. but maybe thats different if you're an only child

Those dresses are so pretty; I'd be happy to wear any of them.

I used to feel closer to my dad, but as I've gotten older I think I relate better to my mom.

that blue and gold dress is lovely! and id say I'm closer to my mother, but not very close. I like to kinda keep to myself, funny words for a blogger, but its true.

cute vintage-y dresses:)

i'm close to both my parents. on certain issues one is better than the other to talk to. My mom helps me with my creative pursuits & boy issues.

My dad helps me with my business ventures and loves shopping with me:)

Love the dresses, all 50s fashion appeals to me with huge skirts and tiny waists. I am closest with my mum, we even go shopping together, which is always great fun!

I love all of those dresses, I now have major urges to shop!

I used to be a Daddy's girl, but over the past couple of years my Mum and I's relationship has strengthened immensly whilst my father has grown somewhat indifferent to me. I do miss our relationship, I mean, we get on...but it's not the same.

Sorry to ramble! Your post got me thinking =)

Those are pretty vintage-look dresses.

About your relationship with your mom . . . things get difficult, and the fighting begins, but she loves you no matter what. I know a girl who is very close with her dad, and that will never change. I think it's great to be close to at least one of your parents; imagine if you weren't close with either one? I wasn't.

Very nice dresses. I love vintage and vintage inspired.
I have a good relationship with both my parents now. But my mother and I used to have really terrible fights. Looking back it is b/c we're very alike (stubborn and opinionated) and also b/c my father was deployed to Iraq (or some other place we weren't allowed to know about) most of the time. High stress=high emotions=BIG fights.
Oh, and as for eBay, I do have a lot of luck with them. Just read the descriptions closely and pay attention to seller feedback. The biggest disappoints have just been illfit or smelling of smoke.
